A New Vision

Sometimes when we need to really see the world with different eyes, we just need to lie down and look up. Sunday morning I took a walk with my Nikon-80 in tow looking for that vision. The artist in me beckoned me to just lie down and look up. I took two spots in Wausau’s Marathon Park to find that vision. I needed to lie down and look up.

Trees do that. These white pines reach to the sky. They seem to say “Look up! We are giving you shade from the sun. We are giving you shelter from the wind and rain.

A little further to the east in Marathon Park, the maples reign. In Autumn, they turn their colors with brilliant hues from green to gold, yellow, red, and orange. This is a signal that change is on the way. Summer is gone and winter is coming.

We face change every day of our lives. Every day a child is born and we rejoice. Every day someone dies and we mourn. Wars happen. Governments change. Disaster strikes. New homes are being built. Young adults fall in love, get married, and start families. Change happens! We grow. It is all a part of life!
